It was my pleasure to work with the only and only Hilary Rushford of Dean Street Society for her wedding. Jeremy and Hilary had the wonderful opportunity to marry in beautiful Cartagena, Colombia. Designing for a place like this is so easy as it has unbelievable character. We had such a great time designing her stationery for the wedding and even invented a new kind of wedding piece, a wedding guest directory! Equipped with photos, names and all.
About the design! Hillary and I had a series of video calls to discuss her event details, design ideas, and color scheme. She has such amazing taste, that it was really about bringing all of her ideas into a cohesive presentation that captured her fun loving style and the true importance of their wedding. She was so well organized and in tune with her creativity that it made my job easy.
What initially was just a map for her guests turned into a bunch of different collateral for their big day, I’ll be sharing more this week. Everything we designed was based on functional beauty that focused on making their guests feel welcomed, appreciated, and entertained while they were in BEAUTIFUL Cartagena. We highlighted the local colorful architecture with custom drawing of their locations and the gorgeous bougainvillea flowers throughout the city, laid out a detailed itinerary to keep guests informed, and designed day of collateral that captured the celebratory nature of the wedding. Check out the photo’s and let me know what you think. You can find Hillary’s blog on the event here as well. Thank you Hillary for being so amazing to work with and for giving women like me the courage to put themselves out there. You also looked absolutely gorgeous in that gown.
