New Year's resolutions don't have to wait until January 1. I wanted to get out ahead of things this year and address something that I've been meaning to do for years. I spend countless months guiding my clients on the importance of a logo that reflects their brand and establishing brand identity all the while ignoring my own advice. I've had the same logo for years, and yes I've incorporated the Map Chick element into my branding for maps, but nothing has really changed. Over the years, Jeremy and I have talked, I've met with close friends and marketing consultants, but never felt sure of what I wanted to do with my brand. However, over the past few weeks, all of those meetings and brainstorming sessions have paid off; I finally feel I have a design that reflects my designs, my clientele, and where I want to take CW Designs into the future.
I decided to go with a simple design focused on my initials because a signature is a peek into something unique about that person. A signature is something personal and something that represents who we are. I remember looking at my mom scribble her initials on her artwork – the significance is not lost on me – and practicing my own on scraps of paper torn from a notebook. I wanted my brand to be unique, intimate, and timeless, so that's why the colors I chose are classic as well.
I am so excited to be rolling this out over the next few months and starting the new year with a brand identity that truly reflects CW Designs and the quality my clients have always received. Here's to hitting the ground truly running in 2020.
